CONVENTIONS

I attend conventions in my spare time as a freelance artist! This is my "convention portfolio". While not every convention I've been to is on here (due to losing some photos), I have been to many.

SMALL HISTORY/ABOUT ME

Formly known as Cosmic Cato, my small business, Sylvibbon, was founded around January, 2022.

Cosmic Cato was my original company name, the name Cato being a nickname given by a former friend. But unfortunately I lost connection with this name, and after finding out some unfortunate traits about my former friend, I rebranded into a different name that more suited me. The same name as my pokemon comic account, @sylvibbon. And thus Sylvibbon became my permanant company name, and I couldnt be happier with the change.

I love anime and manga, and I love conventions! As an artist, I would always find myself expressing my love for my favorite things through art, and it has never stopped. I wanted to share these same happy feelings with others, and thus I started to create merchandise of my artwork.

I started by making and selling homemade stickers to a local pop culture store (Planet Fun) by my college, where they'd sell my stickers to other people. My favorite anime/manga/media is pokemon. To my suprise, my eeveelution stickers sold fast, and it didn't take long for me to gain an audience and become well known and a popular local. I sold my stickers as a side hussle while making comics and artowrk on my social media.

Eventually I decided it was time to move further with my small business, and looked into conventions. As someone who loves conventions already, I was very excited and started to research how to go about applying to conventions and wacthing videos on how to start going to conventions and what to expect. After my first convention in February of 2023, I was going to conventions whenever possible, applying whenever possible, and having a blast during each and every one. I am still actively applying for any conventions I can, and am thriving in my small (mostly) pokemon fanart themed business spreading my art and merchandise with fans.
